Things To do

MUSSOORIE MALL ROAD
The beloved colonial promenade at the heart of Mussoorie — a long stretch of lampposts, wooden benches and local vendors selling woolens, handicrafts and street food, with panoramic views of the Doon Valley and the Himalayas stretching on one side and the lively hum of hill-station life on the other.:
MUSSOORIE MALL ROAD
LANDOUR
A quiet British-era cantonment perched 980 ft above Mussoorie, named after a village in Wales, where deodar-lined lanes wind past colonial churches, century-old bakeries and stone cottages — home to Ruskin Bond, Victor Banerjee and Vishal Bhardwaj, and mercifully untouched by the commercial frenzy below.:
LANDOUR
CHAAR DUKAAN
A legendary cluster of four shops at Sister's Bazaar in Landour, framed by St Paul's Church, that has served travellers for over a century — famous for its apple cinnamon waffles, pakoras, maggi and steaming mugs of ginger lemon tea enjoyed in the chilly mountain air.:
CHAAR DUKAAN
LAL TIBBA
The highest point in Mussoorie and Landour at 2,275 m, set atop Depot Hill in the cantonment — home to a Japanese-built telescope from which, on a clear day, one can spot the peaks of Kedarnath, Nilkantha, Bandarpoonch and even Nanda Devi rising above the horizon.:
LAL TIBBA
VICTOR BANERJEE HOUSE
A charming British-style cottage known as Parsonage — with a white picket fence, colourful prayer flags, a lush garden and a signboard that reads "Beware Rabid Thespian" — home to the Padma Bhushan-winning actor and one of the most photographed residences on the Landour-Lal Tibba trail.:
VICTOR BANERJEE HOUSE
RUSKIN BOND HOUSE
Ivy Cottage — the unassuming hilltop home above Landour Bazaar where India's most beloved Anglophone storyteller has lived since 1963, surrounded by whispering deodars and Himalayan views that have breathed life into decades of stories, novellas and essays about the mountains.:
RUSKIN BOND HOUSE
KEMPTY FALLS
A spectacular 40-ft waterfall 15 km from Mussoorie, developed as a picnic destination by the British in the 19th century and nestled at 4,500 ft amid high mountain cliffs — its crystal-clear waters divide into two cascades and collect into a natural pool perfect for a refreshing dip.:
